Getting to Hervey Bay

There are a number of transport options available that make getting to Hervey Bay easy for everyone.

Car

To drive to Hervey Bay, it is a relaxing three and a half hours north of Brisbane, straight up the Bruce Highway. 

Bus

If you don't feel like driving, Greyhound Pioneer and Premier Motor Services operate several services each day through Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Childers. Suncoast Pacific operates daily services from Brisbane via the Sunshine Coast.

Air

The Fraser Coast is also accessible by air with direct Qantas Link flights from Brisbane taking just 45 minutes, and Virgin Blue offering direct flights to Sydney, both departing several times daily. The Fraser Coast Airport is just 10 minutes from The Esplanade at Hervey Bay and shuttle buses, taxis and hire cars are available at the airport.

Rail

Queensland Rail operates regular services from Brisbane, Rockhampton and Cairns into Maryborough West. Transfers to Hervey Bay can be included via the Trainlink bus service, which connects with every train. The Tilt Train will also stop at the Howard for pre-booked passengers.
